Emily Windon is a contempory artist working across media with an emphasis in photomedia. She has postgraduate qualifications in visual arts and art theory from the University of Newcastle and was awarded the university medal in 2004.
Emily Windon has exhibited and travelled nationaly and internationally. Her studio work is informed by her threoretical interests and her research centres on issues of the body and its interaction with technology and the environment.
Much of her photograhic work is self portrait based and uses the movement of the body to express emotion and its connections to the surrounding space. The natural world and its artifacts also form an intergral part of Emily Windon's practice and can be found in both her photographic work and works on paper.
